We participated in a unique project for Iberdrola: a mobile substation for emergency situations.

This type of mobile substations allow the power supply to consumers to be quickly resumed in the event of a technical incident or an unforeseen situation on the network

IDE, a company belonging to the Iberdrola Group, has entrusted Ormazabal with the definition, construction, and delivery of a mobile substation project for electrical distribution. These sets of equipment, as unique as they are complex, require a high level of engineering knowledge, as well as customization according to their use; something to which Ormazabal has contributed its extensive experience in the electrical grid in general and its knowledge of this type of customized solution, a market in which it stands as a consolidated leader in ad hoc solutions.

Thus, this particular solution has a set of Ormazabal cpg.0 primary distribution switchgear with a single 24 kV / 1600 A / 25 kA busbar, protection and control equipment, as well as a 12.5 MVA 45 / 20-15-13.2 kV ODAF transformer. All of this is fitted on a semi-trailer with 3 hydraulic steerable axles that enable the substation’s manoeuvrability and operability; essential requirements given the versatility required for this type of facility. The medium voltage switchgear room is located at the front of the semi-trailer, along with the protection and automation equipment, with the transformer at the rear.

A new success story where we meet the most demanding quality requirements requested by our client thanks to our ongoing commitment to innovation and technology.

In this way, this portable facility will be available to the client for urgent action in emergency situations and/or the renovation of other substations; situations where availability over time is critical to guarantee the correct electricity supply to consumers.
