The EDIN project is an individual Ormazabal project carried out during 2016-2017.
Ormazabal's secondary distribution switchgear technology for medium-voltage is based on the use of the SF6 gas as an insulation and current breaking element. The ever-greater number of restrictions on the use of SF6 gas brings the need for a radical change in the technology used in Ormazabal products.
The main aim of the project is to make prototypes of feeder and fuse-protection functions with electrical values up to 24 kV - 630 A - 21 kA, using a gas insulating medium that does not have restrictions on the use of SF6 and has a GWP (Global Warming Potential) of less than 200.
EDIN is a project funded by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness, through the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI).
