Biogas plant modernization as a complete solution ready for connection
Flexibilisation makes older biogas plants more profitable. For this reason, the operators of such a plant in Rietze, in the German region of Lower Saxony, decided to invest in the expansion of their capacities. They commissioned Ormazabal to convert the existing grid connection substation and to install a new transformer substation. During the planning phase, our team coordinated the customer's needs with the requirements of the distribution grid operator Avacon and implemented them technically.
The walk-in station is equipped with a three-phase oil transformer with a capacity of 1,600 kVA and medium-voltage switchgear type gae630 with circuit breaker and an integrated protection device from the Ormazabal product range ekor.rpg. It protects the transformer both in the event of an overload and in the event of a short circuit by disconnecting the part with the defect from the network. The adjustment and testing of the protection device was also carried out by Ormazabal.
The new transformer substation was delivered completely pre-installed from the factory, so only the external connection work had to be carried out on site. The biogas plant operators thus received the complete modernisation - from planning to protection testing - as a plug-and-play solution from one source.
