Focusing on tomorrow's energy distribution: The Ormazabal Technical Day 2019How can grid stability be ensured in the long term taking into account the increased use of decentralised generators? What role do large battery storage units play in the transformation of energy systems? How does e-mobility affect the grid? This year's Ormazabal Technical Day of German sales region south on 4 July 2019 at the Rottweil power plant was devoted to these and other questions. More than 250 guest from the energy sector followed the invitation to discuss current trends for future-oriented energy distribution. The main subjects being renewable energies, automation and e-mobility.
Ormazabal's technology experts and selected guest speakers gave a top-class lecture programme throughout the day. One of the highlights being the presentation by Irene Fech from Netze BW. She explained how the grid integration of e-mobility can be successfully mastered. In the exhibition area, 21 selected partner companies presented their innovative products and services for power distribution. Ormazabal also presented highlights from its product portfolio. The exhibits included novelties such as the transforma.smart, a transformer with on-load tap changers, as well as the updated fuse attachment for ga/gae ts fuse protection cubicles, the new switchgear cgm.800 and the product line ekorsys featuring protection and control relays. At the information stand on renewable energies and electromobility, visitors had the opportunity to talk directly to experts about solutions for wind, PV and CHP projects as well as e-mobility. Guest could also inquire about worldwide reference projects.
"We succeeded in demonstrating our competence in all those segments and positioning ourselves as a competent solution provider", concluded Markus Kiefer, who hosted Ormazabal Germany as Managing Director. "I appreciate very much that we have managed to establish such a lively discussion forum for exchange at eye level with the Technical Day and I am already looking forward to the upcoming conference in the North-East Sales Region of Germany".
