Ormazabal helps to secure energy supply for the new Krefeld fire station

Because the main fire station of the city of Krefeld had long outgrown its old building, the city decided to build a new, ultra-modern building complex on a 25 000 square meter site. To ensure that operations can continue even in the event of a power failure in the public grid, the site has two emergency power generators that provide the station with power for several days in an emergency. In addition, the new fire station has its own cogeneration plant, which supplies it with electricity and heat and feeds it into the grid of the local power supplier. As a link between these components, Ormazabal Deutschland, as local power distribution expert, supplied a medium-voltage switchgear of the gae630 family. gae630's maintenance-free SF6-insulated cubicles helps to ensure an uninterruptible energy supply. "We have maximum reliability here," says a delighted Chief Fire Chief Andreas Klos, who played a major role in the planning of the new main fire station. "Thanks to the technical and organisational redundancy, we can operate the site safely and are well positioned for the future". Stefan Passens, sales representative of the North-West Germany region, is also pleased that a medium-voltage system "Made in Krefeld" is in operation not far from the Ormazabal Deutschland headquarters: "Of course, we are particularly proud helping to ensure interruption-free power supply at one of the city's most important institutions.”
