Ormazabal provides medium voltage distribution for large data center in Germany
Data centers are key elements of any digital infrastructure. Remote working, virtual trade fairs and training sessions, FaceTime with the family, streaming your favourite TV show: all this is becoming increasingly important in our everyday lives - and would not be possible without data centres. For the successful operation of a data center, reliability must be guaranteed, because even short failures or voltage fluctuations in the power grid can damage sensitive hardware and software. This causes a loss of revenue and business for the business customer, and maintenance costs for the operator.
Hetzner Online has therefore relied on Ormazabal distribution stations for the medium voltage supply of its data centers for many years. Ormazabal supplied a solution for the latest expansion of the data center park in Falkenstein in Saxony with a performance potential of up to 22,000 servers for the uninterruptible power supply of the system-critical infrastructure. Two gae switchgear units, which were configured according to customer-specific requirements with seven panels that can be bayed on site, distribute the power supplied to the low-voltage level. Ormazabal's services also included protection testing and support during commissioning.
