In connection with IONITY’s deployment of 400 HPC high-power stations across Europe, it has been decided that these facilities located near Prague will be used by IONITY to test new functions at the corresponding transformation center that will help them remotely monitor their status. In this way, the on-site maintenance requirements of the facilities could be significantly reduced.

To expand the remote monitoring capabilities of the HPC installations from the chargers to the power supply equipment, IONITY asked Ormazabal to supply the first transformation center equipped with all the devices, integrated and factory-tested, that they needed for this.
Ormazabal’s solution allows IONITY to check the status and set alarms for the different elements (transformer, MV switchgear, CLV) and even to alert IONITY staff at its headquarters in Munich or anywhere else if an intruder accesses the transformation center building. It will provide IONITY with the option of remote diagnostics to manage faults.
The Ormazabal Solutions Team was involved in all phases of the project, including planning, consulting, testing, and, finally, commissioning.
Ormazabal used the ekor.mve as the basis of the customized solution, a protection, control, and measurement relay with current and voltage sensors for both local and remote control. From the moment the station is commissioned, it is possible to remotely check and control the status of the input and output MV switchboards, the current, voltage, power or energy values, and the position of the LV circuit breakers at any time during maintenance tasks, and detect and rectify any irregularities that may occur.
