2.4 million passengers a day enjoy Transmilenio's electric buses on the SITP (Spanish Transit System).

Transmilenio provides a rapid transit solution to 2.4 million passengers every day, and its routes cover Bogotá’s main arteries and points of interest. They are developing the new Integrated Public Transportation System (SITP), which entails the electrification of Bogotá’s transportation system. The inhabitants of Bogotá enjoy modern, comfortable, quiet, safe, electric, and emission-free transportation services.

The new electric buses, which replace a fleet of traditional diesel coaches, significantly reduce pollutant emissions from public transportation, improve air quality, and increase Colombia’s overall capacity to carry out the energy transition towards clean transportation.

Solution implemented in Yard UFO 4 – Fontibón: cgm.3 cgm.3-I, cgm.3-v, ekor.ucb   Technical data 36kV – 630 A – 20kA Installed capacity for 34.5 kV circuits of 9.25 MVA and for 11.4 kV circuits of 225 kVA. A constructed area of ​​14,000 m2. It includes 59 stations to recharge 126 buses every day and travel 4 routes, which will benefit some 30,500 passengers.

Ormazabal solution and challenge:

The client requested a plug & play solution for the infrastructure in which everything was integrated and tested in the factory, in addition to meeting the operator’s specifications.
