EDIN - Medium Voltage Equipment with New Dielectrics

The EDIN project is an individual project ofOrmazabalwhich takes place during the years 2016-2017.
The technology of secondary distribution switchgear for medium voltageOrmazabalIt is based on the use of SF6 gas as an insulating and current-interrupting element. The increasingly stringent restrictions on the use of SF6 gas are forcing a radical change in the technology of these products.Ormazabal.

 

Goals:

 

The main objective of the project is to create prototypes of line and protection functions with fuses with electrical values ​​up to 24 kV – 630 A – 21 kA, using a gaseous insulating medium that does not have the restrictions of SF6 and whose GWP (Global Warming Potential) is less than 200.
