EDIN – Medium Voltage Equipment with New Dielectrics

The EDIN project is an individual project of Ormazabal that is developed during the years 2016 – 2017.
The technology of the secondary distribution switchgear for medium voltage of Ormazabal is based on the use of SF6 gas as an element of insulation and current interruption. The increasing restrictions on the use of SF6 gas require a radical change in the technology of Ormazabal products.

 

Objectives:

 

The main objective of the project is to create prototypes of line and protection functions with fuses with electrical values ​​up to 24 kV – 630 A – 21 kA, with a gaseous insulating medium that does not have the restrictions on the use of SF6 and whose GWP (Global Warming Potential) is less than 200.
