FLOCAN 2 GRID - New Platform Solutions and Innovative Technologies Associated with the Evacuation and Grid Integration of Floating Offshore Wind Farms

The FLOCAN 2 GRID project, New Platform Solutions and Innovative Technologies Associated with the Evacuation and Grid Integration of Floating Wind Farms, was implemented between 2015 and 2018 and also includedOrmazabal, with the participation of Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios, Esteyco, Vicinay Sestao, NEM Solutions and Nautilus Floating Solutions.

Goals:

The objective ofFlocan 2 GridThe project aims to investigate and develop the technical and economic feasibility of two floating technologies at full scale, as well as the energy evacuation system and the infrastructure necessary for their grid integration in a realistic operating environment. The project seeks to position itself in a strategic sector such as multi-megawatt wind energy production in medium and deep waters through the first experimental offshore wind farm in Spain.
