MODITRANS – Transformer Modeling and Diagnostics

The following companies are participating in the project: Ormazabal Cotradis Transformadores (Proposal Coordinator), Center for Technical Studies and Research, Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa, School of Engineering of the University of Navarra.

Objectives:

1. New distribution transformer designs for public/private distribution and photovoltaic applications.
2. New sensors that enable the on-line determination of dielectric oil quality.
3. New designs of systems that minimize the connection current of the transformers, avoiding voltage dips during the same in weak networks that could cause the protections to trip
4. Development of a methodology for determining the health index of the transformers.
