NAUTILUS – Validation and Design for Sea Trials of a Semi-Submersible Structure for Floating Offshore Wind Energy

VELATIA leads the NAUTILUS project within the framework of the MINECO’s “Collaboration Challenges” program.

The project, which is being carried out during the years 2014-2016, has the collaboration of the companies Astilleros Murueta, Tamoin, Vicinay Marine and the TECNALIA Technology Center.

Objectives:

The overall objective of this collaboration is the development of a floating structure for offshore wind power that allows a reduction in the costs of the energy generated, as well as its demonstration in the open sea and its subsequent commercialization.

Others:

During the project, the validation at scale and the subsequent full-scale design of a floating structure for cost-competitive offshore wind power that can be manufactured and installed using conventional means.

Project funded by:

Project funded by the “Collaboration Challenges of the state program of Research, Development and Innovation oriented to the challenges of society” program, of the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.
