NUGER - New generation of cells for the digital network

This project led by ORMAZABAL has the collaboration of the UNIVERSITY OF THE BASQUE COUNTRY (EHU/UPV), MONDRAGON HIGHER EDUCATIONAL SCHOOL (MGEP) AND THE UNIVERSITY OF MADRID (UPM)

The project is framed within the “RETOS COLLABORACIÓN 2019” program of the MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND INNOVATION and is developed during the years 2020 – 2023.

Goals:

The main objective of the project is to develop a medium voltage cell for the secondary electrical distribution network in a gas with a GWP < 150 with the ability to report on the health status of the insulation.

Others:

To achieve this main objective, the project will develop:

  • A gaseous insulation system with a GWP < 150.
  • A new three-position gas switch
  • Development of simple partial discharge sensors and detectors for the identification of assembly errors during the installation of transformer centers and substations of High to Medium Voltage, for which it is essential to investigate the filtering of signals generated by the power electronics present in the network.
  • Tasks will be developed related to specialized research on improving health indicators in medium voltage networks through the diagnosis of the condition of dielectrics.

Project funded by:

Project Co-financed by the program “Collaboration Challenges of the State Program for Research, Development and Innovation oriented to the challenges of society”, of the MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND INNOVATION.
