NUGER – New generation of cells for the digital network

This project led by ORMAZABAL has the collaboration of EUSKAL HERRIKO UNIBERTSITATEA (EHU/UPV), MONDRAGON GOI ESKOLA POLITEKNIKOA (MGEP) and the POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY OF MADRID (UPM)

The project is part of the “CHALLENGES COLLABORATION 2019” program of the MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND INNOVATION and will be developed during the years 2020 – 2023.

Objectives:

The main objective of the project is to develop a medium voltage cell for the secondary distribution electricity network in a gas with a GWP < 150 with the capacity to report on the health status of the insulation.

Others:

To achieve this main objective, the project will develop:

  • A gaseous insulation system with a GWP < 150.
  • A new three-position switch for the new gas
  • Development of simple partial discharge sensors and detectors for the identification of assembly errors during the installation of high- to medium-voltage transformer stations and substations. It is therefore essential to investigate the filtering of signals generated by the power electronics present in the network.
  • Tasks related to specialized research into improving health indices in MV networks by diagnosing the state of dielectrics will be developed.

Project financed by:

Project co-financed by the “Collaboration Challenges of the state program for Research, Development and Innovation oriented to the challenges of society” program, of the MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND INNOVATION.
