SIDICEM – Multifunction Cell Diagnostic System

Ormazabal leads the SIDICEM project within the framework of the MINECO “Collaboration Challenges” program.

The project is being carried out during the years 2016-2017 and also involves the participation of CEIT-IK4, DIAEL and the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

Objectives:

The objective of the project is to develop a medium voltage switchgear for “smart” secondary distribution electricity networks that allows

  1. maximizing the availability of distribution networks by diagnosing both cable insulation problems and the vacuum level of vacuum interrupters
  2. ensuring the quality of the electricity supply by avoiding unscheduled interruptions due to failure in the equipment.

Others:

It will be necessary to develop an “intelligent” protection cell with multifunction bottles that integrate the diagnosis of the vacuum level of the bottles.

Project financed by:

Project co-financed by the “Collaboration Challenges of the State Program for Research, Development and Innovation Oriented to the Challenges of Society” program, of the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, and by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union.
