The Ormazabal cells meet the high standards of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

Ormazabal supplied 5 sectionalizing centers to the power distribution lines for the 2022 Winter Olympic Park in the Yanqing district of Beijing. This is the second time that Ormazabal has supplied its smart products and solutions for an Olympic event in China, following the first delivery for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games held in Beijing.

Ormazabal solution and Challenge:

As the most important sporting event held in China, the Beijing Olympic Games have had the highest level of 360° preparation. The electricity supply was one of the most important projects among others. The requirements that the electrical products and solutions had to meet were very demanding, not only to meet the power supply needs during the Olympic Games, but also to ensure their continued use in the post-Olympic period. The selection of suppliers was subject to a very strict process, in which all companies competed with the latest products and most advanced technology, as well as proven experience in the field. In addition, meeting the short delivery time for each project was another challenge. It was a milestone for companies that have successfully supplied Olympic projects.

Ormazabal was one of the selected suppliers for the National Alpine Ski Center and the Olympic Village for the innovation of its gae medium-voltage switchgear family, as well as for its excellent performance in many complex power distribution projects over the past 30 years in China. With this, Ormazabal has become one of the few companies with important references in both the 2012 Winter Olympic Games and the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, also held in Beijing.
