We install our solutions in the Three Gorges New Energy 400MW offshore wind power project

The Three Gorges Yangjiang Shapa Offshore Wind Farm Project is located in the southern sea area of Shapa Town, Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province, with a planned total installed capacity of 1700 MW and a total investment of about 35 billion￥, and the project started construction in November 2018, divided into 5 phases of construction, with a total of 269 offshore wind turbines installed. Ormazabal is fortunate to be involved in the construction of Phase I to IV projects. Among them, the Three Gorges Yangjiang Phase II offshore wind power project has a planned area of about 64 square kilometers, water depth of 28 meters to 32 meters, and a total installed capacity of 400MW, which is an important part of the “million kilowatt-level” offshore wind power base of the Three Gorges Group in Yangjiang, Guangdong.

Ormazabal challenge and solution:

In the face of such an epoch-making offshore wind power project, Ormazabal, as a customized product service provider, has designed and provided a total of 62 sets of 40.5kV offshore wind power medium-voltage combination cubicles cgm.3 to help customers achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality targets.

As we all know, the offshore environment is very harsh, requirements of the product performance are very strict, Ormazabal independently developed cgm.3 products specially designed for offshore wind power applications, and has passed a very rigorous test, salt spray corrosion resistance, less maintenance, being widely used and fully recognized in the field of new energy.

Key benefits to clients:

• In this project, a total of 62 units of 6.45MW offshore wind turbines were hoisted for the first time in the South China Sea, realizing the first installation of large-capacity units in the South China Sea. Among them, the main engine manufacturers were Goldwind Technology and Mingyang Intelligent, and a total of 62 sets of Ormazabal 40.5kV medium voltage switchgear combination equipment were adopted. After completion, the project is expected to provide about 1.088 billion KWH of clean electric energy to the power grid every year, reduce about 442,600 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, save about 346,000 tons of standard coal, and make a contribution to achieving the goal of “carbon peak and carbon neutrality”.
• The Three Gorges Yangjiang Shapa Offshore Wind Farm Project has created offshore booster station with the biggest single capacity in China, under the same capacity weight lightest sea booster stations, and other “most” of the national and global “most of the world” – first typhoon resistant floating offshore wind turbines.
