Green generation & storage, Success stories

We installed our solutions at Three Gorges New Energy's 400MW offshore wind project.

The Yangjiang Shapa Three Gorges Offshore Wind Farm Project is located in the southern ocean of Shapa Town, Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province, with a planned total installed capacity of 1,700 MW and a total investment of about 35 billion¥. The project started construction in November 2018, divided into 5 construction phases, with a total of 269 offshore wind turbines installed. Ormazabal is fortunate to participate in the construction of the projects from phase I to IV. Among them, the Three Gorges Yangjiang Phase II offshore wind power project has a planned area of approximately 64 square kilometers, a water depth of 28 meters to 32 meters, and a total installed capacity of 400MW, which is an important part of the Three Gorges Group’s “million kilowatt-level” offshore wind power base in Yangjiang, Guangdong.

Goldwind Technology – “Global New Energy Enterprise 500” and “Fortune China 500” The cumulative installed capacity of global wind power exceeds 86 GW.

Mingyang Smart Energy – is one of the top 500 Chinese enterprises and one of the top 500 global new energy enterprises. Its activities include the development and exploitation of wind, solar, storage, hydrogen and other new energy sources, as well as the manufacture of equipment.

Ormazabal Challenge and Solution:

Faced with an era-defining offshore wind power project, Ormazabal, as a customized product service provider, has designed and supplied a total of 62 40.5kV cgm.3 medium-voltage combined-cage switchgear sets for offshore wind power, helping customers achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.

The offshore environment is very harsh, and the product performance requirements are very strict. Ormazabal has independently developed cgm.3 products specially designed for offshore wind power applications. They have passed very rigorous testing. They are resistant to salt spray corrosion and have reduced maintenance. They are widely used and fully recognized in the new energy sector.
