Ormazabal provides smart MV solutions for the main Provincial and City Power Supply Bureau in China

China Import and Export Fair, also known as Canton Fair has held its 130th edition between October 15 and 19th, 2021. The Canton Fair, which started in 1957, is the largest trade event and has the longest history in the country. Taking place online and offline this time, it has attracted around 7,800 offline exhibitors occupying 400,000 sqm in the Canton Fair Complex, while there have been more than 26000 online exhibitors presenting over 2.82 milllion product items in their virtual stands. Both have reached highest records in its history.

As the hosting city for the Canton Fair, Guangzhou has been providing its best service to support this event.  One of the most important actions was to guarantee the power supply during the whole exhibition. The Guangzhou utility has had more than 1,000 service engineers on 24h duty ready to ensure the continuity of power supply at all times, not only for the exhibition centre (which involves more than 40 distribution substations) but also for the data centre, transport means, hotels and other places of interest, as well as the covid-19 control centres. In addition during these past few days, our Ormazabal service engineers have also been on duty as support to Guangzhou utility in case any service requests arised.

As the capital city of Canton province, and 3rd most populous metropolitan area in China, Guangzhou has been advancing its development in the smart grid and Ormazabal has been one of the key suppliers in providing smart medium voltage solutions for its distribution network. This year we celebrate our 30th anniversary in China, and in the past decades we have been supplying thousands of our gae type GIS medium voltage switchgears for the power distribution network of Guangzhou. Our smart medium voltage solutions have enabled high-value, efficient and reliable operations to address the critical factors found in large-scale power distribution automation projects.
