Ormazabal takes part in the "Grand Paris Express" project, the largest urban project in Europe

The Grand Paris project is part of an economic development plan for the Ile-de-France region, to meet transportation, economic and social local changes needs.

Seven areas have been identified as strategic development hubs for innovation and research, health, finance, creative industries, international trade, events, aeronautics, and sustainable cities. Thus, it is necessary to create the infrastructures linking these main economic hubs: this is a 205 km transport network, with 72 stations served (including 57 new ones), 4 new lines created (15, 16, 17, and 18), and 1 automated bypass metro line around Paris.

For this largest urban project in Europe, Ormazabal will provide medium voltage substations with cgmcosmos type gas-insulated MV switchgear: All the MV connecting points are dedicated to the rail traction part of the new L15 South line, with commissioning in 2025. The MV connecting points and transformer substations will power the new stations and the connected infrastructures related to the 55 km extension of the Western Paris RER E (EOLE project), which will involve station modernization works (14 stations including three new ones).
