We adhere to the European Wind Charter to accelerate the decarbonization of society

We join forces, along with the main stakeholders in the sector, to double down on the wind industry as a strategic priority for the European Union

The recent European agreement to achieve 42.5% renewable energy by 2030 – potentially revisable to 45% – underscores the need for a decisive boost to the wind sector. Currently representing 17% of the electrical consumption in European Union countries, the wind sector aims to increase its contribution to 35% by 2030 and 50% by 2050, as the continent aims for climate neutrality.

This pressing need to electrify our society through renewable and sustainable energy has materialized into the so-called Wind Charter, presented by the association WindEurope. It aims to serve as a call to action to fulfill commitments regarding renewable energies and to rely on a European wind industry with a long-standing history and international recognition.

For this reason, at Ormazabal, we align ourselves with the 26 signing countries and over 300 companies in the energy industry to take action through 15 immediate action points, aiming to achieve a sustainable energy transition.
