Ormazabal is present in the largest public charging station in southern Europe

Elche is the city in Alicante (Spain) where Iberdrola has inaugurated the largest ultrafast charging station in southern Europe.

Ormazabal has participated in this project by providing our technological know-how and supplying the necessary medium voltage equipment for the two existing charging stations, located on both sides of the A-70 highway. Its location is strategic due to its proximity to El Altet airport, the Instituto Ferial Alicantina (IFA) and Elche Parque Empresarial, also offering coverage to the electromobility of the Mediterranean Corridor.

The complex consists of the two stations mentioned above, which will allow the simultaneous charging of up to 16 electric vehicles thanks to the four 400 kW and twelve 200 kW chargers. They will make it possible to recharge the battery of an electric car in less than five minutes, providing each vehicle with 100 km of autonomy. To meet the requirements of this infrastructure, from Ormazabal we have supplied two twin solutions of our own manufacture, each consisting of medium voltage cubicles and a distribution transformer with biodegradable dielectric liquid, all installed in a prefabricated concrete enclosure.

Ormazabal is present in the deployment of electric mobility facilities throughout the Iberian Peninsula, with high added-value sustainable solutions, in which digitalisation, decarbonisation and decentralisation of the power grid are already a reality.
